Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra  The Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra (LSYO) provides performing opportunities for middle and high school students who have at least three years of experience with a private teacher or in school music programs.
Participation is by audition. Live Auditions for the 2016-2017 season will be held on two Saturdays this August 20th and 27th Please go to the Auditions page for more information. All members are re-auditioned annually. For the 2015-2016 season, approximately 95 students auditioned of which 64 were accepted.
The 2016-2017 season starts in September 2016* and goes through May 2017. Rehearsals generally take place at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesdays. Rehearsals include professionally directed sectionals, and master classes.
LSYO performs three concerts in a season. Scheduled concert dates will be announced just before the season begins in September.
Tuition for 2016-2017 season remains $400. Some scholarships are available on a needs basis.
*Percussion and brass players have the option to start in November after marching band season is over.
